Under the hood, the 3.6-liter V6 with 310 hp remains, as does the nine-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive remains optional. Details such as pricing and time of availability haven’t been announced yet. Buick has done an overall solid job of updating its most expensive and biggest crossover.
The competition is particularly fierce, especially from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. Buick also has to be careful to make sure the Enclave doesn’t create internal competition against a certain other three-row luxury crossover from GM, the Cadillac XT6. In the past, this has been avoided by making Buick a near-luxury bargain brand, also competing with Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti.
