According to GM Authority, buyers of vehicles like the Sierra were disappointed to discover that the CD player is no longer an option. See, not everyone carries their entire music collection on their phone and some like the old-school, almost analog feel of a physical object being the medium of choice for their music. Naturally, these people are in the minority and most would rather use Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto, but this sort of thing is to be expected. Some people simply like an old-school feel. That’s why Lexus still fits the 2021 LC with a CD player, but eventually, all cars will be exclusively digital and wireless. For the GMC and Chevy van twins, we hope the deletion of the CD player is the start of a renaissance for these prehistoric vans.
