The Sierra 1500 experienced a sales drop of 18.7%, but HD models grew in sales by 12.2% for a total of 19,812 units. Combining Silverado and Sierra sales gives GM a market share of 38% over Ford’s 30% share. Ram comes in third place with a share of 27%. The Ford F-Series remains the best-selling individual truck model with a total of 140,701 units sold. While sales declined across the board, one brand and one truck stood out: the Toyota Tundra. The Japanese truck was the only model line to see an improvement from Q1 2021 to Q1 2022, with a growth in sales of 18.34% and a total of 22,643 units sold. The Nissan Titan took 6th place with a total sales figure of 6,415. The year ahead will see the contest heat up, as Ford readies the F-150 Lightning, and GM unleashes refreshed versions of both the Silverado and Sierra.
