“Sierra Denali holds tremendous equity for GMC and our customers,” said Duncan Aldred, GMC vice president. “We now have an opportunity to evolve Sierra’s capabilities and technologies, as afforded by transitioning to an all-electric propulsion while also elevating the luxurious design and comfort associated with Denali.”
The teaser doesn’t reveal anything new about the truck’s capabilities, but shows that the front end looks significantly different than the recently facelifted 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The headlights aren’t the same shape, and there is no physical grille because the electric Sierra doesn’t have en engine to keep cool. Like the upcoming Hummer, the electric Sierra boasts a unique lighting sequence. It’s unclear if the three headlight bars will indicate charge level, as they do on the Hummer.
