It’s called the DS 8, a flagship sedan meant to rival luxury models like the Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series. Underneath, the car is underpinned by the same EMP2 platform found on another stunning sedan, the Peugeot 508, meaning it may come with a similar plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Peugeot currently offers the 508 with a 225-horsepower hybrid powertrain with an impressive 30-mile electric range, though this luxury DS model could produce more power.
When the DS 8 arrives on the market in 2020, it is expected to pack a range of gasoline and diesel engines with plug-in hybrid assistance. It will first be available in China, with availability extending to Europe later on.
